You will be responsible for designing, developing, automating, and executing tests across front-end and back-end systems. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contributing to high-performance solutions that meet regulatory compliance and quality standards.About the ProjectYou'll work with Roche Sequencing Solutions San Jose, a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team building regulated end-to-end solutions for laboratory accessioning, processing, and reporting. This includes supporting NIPT and Oncology test offerings. Building these solutions requires expertise in Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, Client Services, Medical Affairs, Laboratory Operations, Systems Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory fields.Our stack

• Languages & Frameworks: Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, Cucumber (BDD), Gherkin, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, JDI, TestNG, Angular
• Tools: Docker, Jenkins, Groovy, Bash, Jira, GitHub, Confluence, Google Suite
• Environment: macOS/Linux, MSSQL.Team:Software Engineering Lead, 4 Software Engineers, 1 Test Lead, 3 Test Engineers, PO.Work EnvironmentScrum-based Agile. Flexible, with meetings aligning with US time zones.As a qualified expert, you will:
  • Design and implement comprehensive testing approaches (exploratory, white-box, black-box).
  • Cover testing levels (unit, integration, system, end-to-end) and types (functional, performance, scalability).
  • Automate and execute tests for front-end and back-end applications.
  • Develop and validate automation frameworks and deployment pipelines.
  • Monitor and report quality metrics using dashboards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of defects and discoveries.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for quality engineering deliverables.
  • Partner with Test Architects, Leads, and V&V teams to enhance testing practices.
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and designers throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Guide and mentor junior testing team members.We're looking for you if you have:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • 5+ years in software product development.
    • 4+ years in quality engineering or a similar role.
    • Proficiency in automating front-end and back-end applications.
    • Expertise in automation frameworks and scripting languages.
    • Knowledge of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Gherkin specifications.
    • Experience in the development and deployment of Unix derivatives.
    • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe).
    • Familiarity with regulated industries, particularly Medical Devices or Digital Health.
    • Strong SQL skills (query writing).
    • Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and a high-performance mindset.
