Job Description:
As an API Programmer, you will play a critical role in
developing, integrating, and optimizing APIs that connect various
networking solutions to the 7SIGNAL platform. You will collaborate
with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and support
integrations that enhance our product offerings. Your expertise in
networking technologies, particularly with products such as Cisco,
Meraki, NetAlly, Extreme, and IT service management tools like
ServiceNow, will be essential in creating robust, secure, and
scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs to integrate networking
hardware and software solutions (e.g., Meraki, Cisco, Extreme) with
internal platforms.
- Collaborate with product teams, customers, and third-party
vendors to ensure seamless API integrations.
- Optimize API performance and scalability to handle large-scale
enterprise deployments.
- Implement secure data handling and transmission practices,
ensuring all integrations meet cybersecurity standards.
- Debug, test, and resolve issues related to API interactions and
integrations with networking systems.
- Develop documentation, including API specifications,
integration guides, and troubleshooting manuals.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in networking
technologies and API standards.
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand API requirements
and deliver custom solutions tailored to specific client
needs.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for API-related issues
encountered by customers and internal teams. Required Skills and
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,
or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in API development and integration, with
a strong focus on networking technologies.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java,
JavaScript, or Go, and experience with REST, SOAP, and GraphQL
APIs.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols, hardware, and
software from vendors such as Cisco, Meraki, Extreme, etc.
- Experience with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow and their
APIs.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and networking services (AWS,
Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripting to streamline
network management.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex
network environments.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate
technical information effectively.
- Experience with API security best practices (OAuth, token-based
authentication, etc.). Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent networking
certifications.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring and optimization
tools.
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker,
Kubernetes).
