Job Summary
Reporting to the Cardiology Assistant Division Manager, the
incumbent uses skills as a seasoned and experienced administrative
operations professional to manage, plan and administer Human
Resources-related and other operations within a large division.
Administers searches spanning the spectrum from Faculty to
Non-Faculty Academic to Postdoc to Staff.
Manages the hiring, transfers, promotions, salary actions,
terminations, performance management and budget recommendations
related to paid and without-salary personnel (non-faculty
academics, postdocs, staff, etc) in the Division who directly
report to a faculty member.
Provides project management to the Assistant Division Manager for
Cardiology in promoting staff engagement and wellbeing through
strategies aimed at preventing staff burnout, improving staff
morale, and promoting equity.
Executes special or continuous research and data analysis
responsibilities. Applies strong organizational and problem-solving
skills and established organization policies, procedures and
programs to assist the faculty and Division in conducting project
evaluations as needed; includes setting up on-line surveys,
gathering and summarizing quantitative and qualitative data; and
recommending changes to enhance the success of a project.
Assists with program planning and collaboration with project staff.
Provides input into project work plans and project schedules.
Participates in project meetings and leads discussion on relevant
project topics. Disseminates project decisions and provides project
reports and updates to faculty and division. Utilizes web tools
such as dashboards to reflect project progress.
Participates in the creation, maintenance and reporting of
operational processes, human resources and space planning.
Participates in the development and monitoring of policies and
procedures for departmental operations.
Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for
obtaining solutions. Performs short- and long-term planning for the
organization.The final salary and offer components are subject to

salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your
work experience and internal equity within this position

Department Description
The Department of Medicine is the largest department in the UCSF
School of Medicine. To advance health, the Department of Medicine
develops and supports innovators in patient-centered care,
scientific discovery, medical education and public policy across
five main sites (Mission Bay, Parnassus, ZSFG, VAMC, and Mt. Zion)
and 39 divisions.
The Division of Cardiology is one of the largest clinical, research
and training divisions of the Department of Medicine (DOM) at UCSF.
Within the Division are sub-specialty sections for: Adult
Congenital Heart Disease; Advanced Heart Failure, Transplant, and
Pulmonary Hypertension; Cardiac Electrophysiology; Echocardiography
and Cardiac Imaging; General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology;
and Prevention. The Division runs several clinical practices in
multiple sites, conducts basic and clinical research, and educates
medical students, residents, clinical fellows and postdoctoral
scholars through ACGME as well as non-ACGME training programs.
The Division has over 90 faculty, 36 clinical fellows, 14
post-doctoral research fellows, and over 58 research support and
administrative staff. The Division currently expends over $22
million per year in pursuit of its clinical, research, training,
and service missions. While the Division is primarily split between
the Parnassus and Mission Bay campuses, fellows have rotations at
the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and the San Francisco
Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
