Job Description:
The Department of Surgery, School of Medicine at Stanford
University seeks to fill several academic surgeon positions in the
Divisions of Abdominal Transplantation and General Surgery.
Clinical specialties include abdominal transplant surgery,
minimally invasive/bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, complex
general surgical oncology, hepatobiliary surgery, and
trauma/surgical critical care/emergency general surgery. These
faculty positions will be at the Assistant, Associate, or full
Professor level (based on the candidate's qualifications) in the
University Medical Line (UML).The major criteria for appointment in
the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix
of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that
advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate
to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.The
successful candidate should have an MD or MD/PhD, and must be board
eligible/certified in abdominal surgery or general surgery. It is
expected the candidate will have substantial scholarly activity
with current funding or a high likelihood of obtaining extramural
funding. Candidates will be expected to build and maintain an
active clinical practice in their specialty with a strong
commitment to mentorship, research development, and diversity,
inclusion, and equity.Candidates should submit their curriculum
vitae, a letter outlining their interests, a scientific statement
describing current research endeavors and future plans, and the
